February 10, 2015
Portland, ME—February 10, 2015—Putney, Inc., a rapidly growing pet pharmaceutical company focused on the development and sale of generic prescription medicines for pets, announced today the commercial launch of its Carprofen Sterile Injectable
Solution, Putney’s FDA approved generic of Rimadyl® Injectable. With this product, Putney now sells FDA approved generic versions of all three Rimadyl® drugs. In addition to Carprofen Sterile Injectable Solution, Putney also offers FDA approved Carprofen Chewable Tablets and Carprofen Caplets.
Jean Hoffman, Putney CEO and President, says veterinarians are eager for veterinary generics and are gaining access to Putney’s products through the company’s network of regional distributor partners, despite Zoetis’ efforts to limit generic competition. “Putney is helping veterinarians make pet healthcare more affordable for their pet owner clients by bringing new FDA approved veterinary generic medicines to the market. Many of our recent product launches, such as Dexmedetomidine HCl (generic of Dexdomitor®) and Carprofen Chewable Tablets (generic of Rimadyl® Chewable Tablets), are first-to-market generics with same dosage form as the brand, giving veterinarians prescribing options they’ve never had before,” says Hoffman.
