NewSpring Announces Winners of Second Annual Investment Competition for Local MBA Students
June 11, 2018
Radnor, PA – June 11, 2018 – NewSpring, a family of private equity funds, announced today the completion of its second annual Investment Thesis Competition. This initiative was sponsored by NewSpring Growth, the Firm’s dedicated growth and expansion stage strategy, and featured participants from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (“Wharton”).
The competition provided interested students with the opportunity to develop a growth-stage investment thesis and receive direct access to NewSpring investment professionals while researching their ideas. With deep investment and business development connections in the Mid-Atlantic region, particularly Philadelphia, NewSpring launched this endeavor to continue to foster a mutually-beneficial relationship with the student body of Wharton, further supporting the local private equity community.
NewSpring would like to congratulate Haroon Saqib and Monish Shah on their first-place victory; Marques Coleman, Cassie Guo, and Yi-Jie Wang as second place recipients; and Sunit Shah and Jeremy Sookhoo as third place recipients. Throughout the process, participants worked closely with NewSpring team members to analyze market sizes, understand competitive dynamics, diligence business models, and identify actionable investment prospects.
“The second edition of the competition proved to be even more successful and thought provoking than our inaugural competition. We continue to be impressed by the submissions and greatly appreciate the efforts shown by all participants,” said Justin Nadile, NewSpring Vice President. “We are proud to support students interested in private equity and deepen our relationships with institutions educating the next generation of successful investors.”
