The Bottom Line: NewSpring Exits Lynn Electronics

NewSpring, a family of private equity strategies, today announced that NewSpring Mezzanine, the Firm’s dedicated mezzanine strategy, has exited its investment in Lynn Electronics.

Lynn Electronics is a manufacturer and supplier of custom fiber optic and copper assemblies

As a provider of telecommunication products since 1964, Lynn Electronics manufactures custom fiber optic and copper cable assemblies in addition to offering a full catalog of cabling solutions for the data center and broadband markets. Based in North Wales, Pennsylvania, Lynn Electronics is one of the only cable assembly manufacturers in the country with a Corning Gold Certified production line on both the East and West coasts.

The company’s commitment to client service and strategic acquisitions has fueled its fast growth

Lynn Electronics’ focus on fostering trust and forging productive, close relationships with its clients has been a significant driver of the company’s growth. In 2020, the company expanded significantly by acquiring Coast2Coast, an Anaheim, California-based custom fiber optic and copper cable assembly manufacturer. This acquisition enabled the company to increase its West Coast production capacity and service offerings to meet the needs of its rapidly growing customer base in the western U.S. In 2021, Lynn Electronics acquired Total Cable Solutions, which significantly increased Lynn Electronics’ share in the telecom/data center market, strengthened its product portfolio, and added a 11,500-square-foot building to Lynn’s facilities.

Lynn Electronics was purchased by NSI Industries

Lynn Electronics was purchased by NSI Industries, a provider of electrical, HVAC and building technology product solutions. NSI Industries is acquiring Lynn Electronics for its ability to broaden NSI’s catalog of connectivity solutions products and grow its footprint in the telecommunications marketplace.

NewSpring supported Lynn Electronics in expanding service offerings and growing into new geographies

“With NewSpring’s support, we were able to expand our service offerings and grow into new geographies in ways that powered our fast growth,” said Mike Boulanger, CEO of Lynn Electronics. “We’re extremely grateful to the entire NewSpring team for helping us reach our potential up to this point and look forward to our new partnership with NSI as we continue taking our business to new heights.”

“In partnering with Lynn Electronics, we were able to capitalize on our expansion goals and further the company’s already leading positions in existing markets. It’s been an honor to work with the entire Lynn Electronics team and wish them the best in their new partnership with NSI.”
