NewSpring Capital Names Dr. Kapila Ratnam to Partner and Announces Additional Team Promotions

Radnor, PA – March 8, 2016 – NewSpring Capital (“NewSpring”), a family of private equity funds providing growth and expansion capital, is pleased to announce that NewSpring Health Capital, the firm’s dedicated healthcare fund, has promoted Dr. Kapila Ratnam to Partner.

NewSpring is also pleased to announce that Lee Garber has been promoted to Principal of NewSpring Holdings, Brian Kim to Principal of NewSpring Growth, Justin Brock to Vice President of NewSpring Healthcare, and Hart Callahan and Tommy Tighe have been promoted to Associate.

NewSpring welcomed Kapila to the Healthcare team in 2007 with a focus on technology enabled services, niche clinical providers, and specialty pharmaceutical investments.  She has over 15 years of experience in drug discovery and development, as well as enabling biotechnologies.  Dr. Ratnam’s Board roles include Paragon Bioservices Inc., Putney Inc. and Interpace Diagnostics Group, Inc.  Prior to joining NewSpring Capital, Kapila worked at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and PSI International, Inc. She has a Ph.D. from the Ohio State University and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Ratnam also has an MBA from Columbia University.
